"The Golden Bird" is my least favorite of the Grimm Faerytales. The gardener's sons act so stupid throughout the entire story. But it was fun to paint a picture with gold paint, apples, stars, and a big gold bird (all things that I like to paint in my artwork anyways :) ) I hope you all enjoy!

pen and ink and acrylic on textured watercolor paper.

prints...

oh wow this is BEAUTIFUL  (I'm probably going to end fav-ing everything you put up XD) Have you been enjoying that website I gave with all those fairytale illustrations?
I love the Grimm Faerytales and I'm so much into your style!
I'd like to see a bigger version of the painting, guess the original looks even more gorgeous because of the gold paint. The colors you use in your pictures always look so great together, I envy you
stunning! the perspective is wonderful!

I love the color you used for the sky

Work hard, play hard
I wish I had a thousand words, but unfortunately I'm left with just the ones that say "This picture is beautiful and perfect and entrancing and I can never stop loving it." And the ones that say, "I would gladly purchase a book of the Grimms' fairy tales if you had illustrated it."

I agree, though the picture is absolutely stunning!
Gold paint is so much fun. |D
